What about bad weather on the day of my tour?Although we can't control the weather. Our adventures are all about you and we will not send our boat out in weather that jeopardizes safety or the experience of the guests. We check with local posted marine weather conditions to make a well educated decision and if weather presents itself immediately before a trip we will cancel or reschedule the tour. It can be raining hard where you are, yet sunny and calm at our destinations. We have frequent passing showers that turn to clear skies in short order. Cancellations due to weather are at the discretion of the boat captain, but a light shower is not a deterrent. In the event that the conditions are unsafe to operate, you will be given the option to re-schedule or cancel. All of our destinations are weather permitting. If we have not contacted you, please show up with expectations to go out.
-
Do you pick us up at our hotel or private house?Yes, we offer complimentary pick-up and drop-off within a reasonable distance of San Pedro Town.
-
What do I need to bring and do I need cash?Towel, sunscreen, wear your bathing suit for water activities, camera, credit card, cash, sunglasses, and any favorite water apparel/gear. We do require that everyone remove their shoes before boarding, but do bring along a comfortable pair of flip flops or shoes in your small back pack/carry on/ beach bag/ purse if your tour is visiting another island for example for the tour that includes the Caye Caulker stop- for when you walk around town. If you are joining one of our Caye Caulker Cruises we do suggest bringing some cash with you if you plan on buying gifts, grabbing a snack or of course another beverage.
-
Am I likely to get seasick? It is very unlikely that you will get seasick if we stay inside the reef. (Inside the reef the water is more calm.) However, in windy or high traffic days it can get a little bumpy. During several of our tours, we stay inside the reef. The reef acts as a barrier and breaks the larger waves resulting in waves 1 foot or smaller inside the reef.
-
What equipment do you provide? We provide all of your snorkel gear and flotation devices. You are welcome to bring your own equipment if you prefer. All diving equipment is rented.
-
I've never snorkeled before, is this something I can do?YES, Definitely! Our experienced and certified crew will give you detailed instructions as your headed to the snorkeling site. They will go over the best practices and safe snorkel procedures for your day at the reef. Additionally, a crew member will be in the water with you for hands on assistance. All you do to snorkel is float on the surface and look down at the beauty below. You might be surprised at how buoyant you are in salt water. It's quite different than a lake or a pool. We also have plenty of flotation devices such as life jackets, and noodles for extra flotation to put you at ease so that you can enjoy the view. Standing on the ladder is a great place to start. Once you feel comfortable, you can paddle off.
